Minnesota Wild Announces 2005-06 TV Schedule
78 games to be broadcast

SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The National Hockey League’s (NHL) Minnesota Wild, in conjunction with FSN North, KSTC.TV, Channel 45 and 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS today announced the club’s cable broadcast and over-the-air television schedule for the 2005-06 season.  FSN North will televise a total of 45 games, KSTC.TV will broadcast 25 games and 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS will broadcast one game. 

 

A team record 78 games will be televised this season as the Wild are also scheduled to make seven appearances on national television this year, including six games on OLN and one game on NBC.

FSN North will begin its broadcast schedule on the road as the Wild plays back-to-back contests against the Phoenix Coyotes on Saturday, October 8 at 9:00 PM and the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday, October 9 at 7:00 PM.  Additional highlights of the 45-game schedule include Minnesota’s game at the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday, December 8, along with 22 contests against Northwest Division foes, including five each against the Calgary Flames and Vancouver Canucks, four against the Colorado Avalanche and three versus the Edmonton Oilers.  FSN North will also broadcast three games each against the Anaheim Mighty Ducks, Los Angeles Kings, Nashville Predators and San Jose Sharks and two contests against the Dallas Stars.  FSN North’s schedule includes 23 telecasts at Xcel Energy Center and 22 road contests.

KSTC.TV, Channel 45 will broadcast the Minnesota Wild home opener on Wednesday, October 5 against the defending Western Conference champion Calgary Flames at 7:00 PM. Additional highlights of the 25-game schedule include 12 contests against Northwest Division opponents, including three each against Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver and two games against Colorado. Included in KSTC.TV’s broadcast schedule are two games against the Detroit Red Wings and Columbus Blue Jackets and Minnesota’s only matches against the Boston Bruins and Montreal Canadiens this season. KSTC.TV will broadcast 15 games at Xcel Energy Center and 10 road telecasts.

5 EYEWITNESS NEWS will broadcast the Wild’s game at the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday, December 10 at 1:00 PM.

FSN North reaches more than 3 million homes throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and North and South Dakota and telecasts nearly 2,600 hours of locally produced programming per year. KSTC.TV can be found over-the-air on Channel 45, located on Cable Channel 12 on most metro cable stations and also carried on DirecTV and other DBS satellite systems.

All Minnesota Wild telecasts will feature color analyst Mike Greenlay. The club expects to name a television play-by-play announcer soon.
